COVID 19: OMIMI LAUDS GOV OKOWA ON PROACTIVE MEASURES

The Political Adviser to the Governor, Omimi Esquire, has commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa over the proactive measures so far taken by his administration to curtail the spread of the dreaded Corona virus pandemic.

In a statement coming on the heels of Tuesday,s state wide broadcast by the Governor , Omimi Esquire noted that with the restriction of movement for two weeks , social distancing as well as isolation centres put in place in designated hospitals across the  State, the spread of the pandemic in Delta will be checkmated to the barest minimum.

While commending the COVID 19 committee set up by the Governor for a job well done so far, the Political Adviser appealed to Deltans to obey the stay at home order as it was in their best interest to isolate themselves for the specified period so as to know their true status per being negative or otherwise.

He admonished those whose businesses will be affected to see the period as the sacrifice they will make to ensure a Corona virus free Delta while lending his voice to market women and other essential service providers not to increase prices of their goods and services, saying it is unpatriotic to do so.

Omimi Esquire expressed confidence that the stay at home order as well as other measures put in place by Governor Okowa will in the long run be for the overall benefit of Deltans

Esquire noted that since the Governor ,s decision is backed by the State public health law of 2006 as well as the 2004 Quarantine act of the federal republic of Nigeria , it behoves on law abiding citizens resident in the State to comply with the restriction of movement order by staying at home.

The Political Adviser also used the opportunity to reecho earlier appeals by Governor  Okowa for well meaning individuals, corporate organisations and even churches and other religious organizations to contribute towards the funding of supporting the activities of curtailing the corona virus pandemic, noting that with the current downturn in the nation,s crude oil sales benchmark , it is obvious that government alone can not fully fund efforts aimed at checkmating the spread of the deadly virus.

The Political Adviser congratulated Deltans for remaining COVlD 19 free so far as evidenced by the three negative tests result of suspected victims from the lrrua Specialist hospital in Edo State, urging Deltans to stay negative by staying safe and adhering to all the instructions handed down by the Okowa administration.
