Delta LG Polls: Why PDP Won--Ovbije

The Hon. commissioner representing the people of Ughelli North, Ethiope East and Urhobos in Patani LGA of Delta state on the Board of Delta state Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Chief Pius Odioko Ovbije has disclosed that the people Democratic Party (PDP), won the just concluded local government elections as a result of serious campaign embark upon by the party across all the local government area in the state.
The DESOPADEC commissioner who made this known while addressing newsmen in Ughelli, Ughelli North Local government area of Delta state equally hailed the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC), for the good conduct of the election and their efforts to ensure a free, fair and credible.
According to him, "tell me why PDP should not win the election, before the poll, PDP rally round all the 25th local government area campaigning and canvassing for vote to win, adding that why PDP was doing this, those who called themselves leaders of All Progressive Congress (APC) where busy doing otherwise"
Continuing, "PDP did not win by force but through the hard working of the party in moving here and there" the DESOPADEC commissioner added.
While condemning the bad act of those hoodlums who burn down the DSIEC office in Ughelli in the name of elections, Chief Ovbije said election is not a do or die affair, he however commended Governor Arthur Okowa for his efforts for the conduct of the election.
Speaking further, the DESOPADEC commissioner thanked the electorate for coming out en-mass to vote for PDP calling on them to remain committed to the party, adding that PDP is the only political party in Delta that could guarantee the dividends of democracy to all.
While saying that the election is peaceful and credible, Chief Ovbije also use this medium to commend the DSIEC officials and the members of DSIEC
ad hoc staff for their good conduct before, during and after the election, calling on PDP members to be law abiding citizens saying that the party will also win in Delta state come 2019 even at the Federal level.
