V.O.A HAVE STARTED THE RE-ELECTION CRUSADE OF GOVERNOR IFEANYI OKOWA AND WE SEE IT TO COMPLETION ----HOPE GEORGE.
The Director General Vote Okowa Again, V.O.A 2019 who is the Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Youth Development Comrade Amb. Hope George stated this when he led the executive of V.O.A on visit to Professor Sam Oyovbiare, former Minister of information of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chairman, Delta State Adversary and Peace Building Council at Asaba and Chairman, governing council, Delta State University.
The Director General of VOA, Comrade Amb. Hope George, said the visit was to pledge loyalty to Prof. Sam Oyovbaire appreciate him for all he has been doing for the government and also to seek ways of partnership in the re-election of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
Hope George, noted that, the main motive of the VOA is to market the governor's development efforts to Deltans and work with relevant stakeholders in ensuring his reelection.
"We have started Okowa's re-election crusade and we will see it to completion. It is our desire and vision to mobilize and keep the structure of Okowa.
Responding, the former Minister of Information, and Chairman, Delta State Advisory and Peace Building Council, Prof. Sam Oyovbaire, called on various groups in Delta State to believe and key into the vision/SMART agenda of the Delta State Government, adding that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has been firm and fair to everyone in the State.
Prof. Oyovbaire, made the call when members of Vote Okowa Again, VOA, Group, led by its Director General, Hon. Hope George, paid him a visit at his residence in Asaba.
Prof. Oyovbaire while congratulating members of the group for their initiatives in drumming the support for the Okowa led-administration, urged them to believe in themselves and not to relent in believing the vision and SMART agenda of Senator Okowa's Administration.
He advised them to believe strongly in their concept of 'Vote Okowa Again' and ensure that they are disciplined and responsible in carrying out their task of sensitising others to key into their mission.
According to him; "You have my support in championing the course of our Governor, Senator Okowa. I believe everyone in the state feels the pulse of the Governor. I am happy that Okowa's vision and mandate has brought all of you together, without him, maybe you would have been somewhere else, but you are all here together. So, as a group, and like all other well meaning groups in the state, you should advocate to Deltans on the need to Vote Okowa Again come 2019".
"The Governor has been firm and fair to everyone in all parts of the state. I know what the governor has done, what he is doing and what he can still do". Prof. Oyovbaire stated.
Prof. Oyovbaire noted that, Delta State remains the only state where all those who founded the party PDP, are still in the party. Right from the governors, party chairmen and others leaders.
He said, after the 1998 rally, it was a resolution to go home and form PDP in Delta, adding that, the goal was achieved with trust, beliefs, oneness and commitment by the founders.
According to him, "It was an agreed decision by leaders of the PDP. PDP is a phenomenon itself, it is the only party that has remained intact. Others have in one way or the other merged while some are into oblivion".
"As a person, what I am bothered about is the quality of the person, no matter the part of the state he comes from. And I believe in the qualities of our Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa. He has this way of blending the state, and I believe very strongly in him". Prof. Oyovbaira said.
While assuring the group of giving his contributions and support to anything that will sustain the governor for 8 years, he urged them to try as much as possible to hold on to their concept of Vote Okowa Again, and take it seriously.
