The Executive Chairman Delta State Board of Internal Revenue DBIR Sir Monday John Onyeme has been Confered an award of excellence in financial management and tax administration.

Basking in the euphoria of receiving the Award at the Unity Hall, Government House Asaba yesterday 10/7/19 at the Annual Conference/General Meeting of the Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria Delta State Chapter, the DBIR Boss thanked the Institute for finding him worthy to be honoured with this Prestigious award, he said financial management remains heart of any Successful Organisations

While maintaining that this award will Spur him to do more in the area of tax administration and financial management, he revealed that the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue DBIR under his leadership has not only recorded Continous Progress in boosting the Internally Generated Revenue of the State which has led to the highest IGR since the existence of the Board but has also tripple size the tax net compared to what was on ground when they assumed Office.

According to him"The primary purpose of taxation is to raise revenue for the Government to meet huge public expenditure, most governmental Projects must be financed  and we all are aware that the federal Allocations wont be enough to Shoulder all the Basic Amenities needed by citizens hence taxation remains the Solution"

He Continued" As a State we all can testify that the Delta State Governor Sen Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has made good use of the taxpayers money via meaningful Projects Delivery such as Good Road Network, Health Facilities in Hospitals , Infrastructures in the Educational Sector, Human Capital Development, Youths Empowerment etc  that has placed the State in an enviable height"

Onyeme who was ably represented by his Executive Assistant Dr David Oba uses the occasion to call on Informal Sectors to support the Stronger Delta Agenda of Dr Ifeanyi Okowa by Paying their taxes regularly.

The National President of ISMN Dr. Emman Oyeka revealed that until we start thinking outside the box that is when we can strongly  improve the nation's  economy, he said that the Conference is to discuss innovative ways on how the economic challenges facing the Country can be solved.

The Delta State Chairman of ISMN Mr Frank Apokwu thanked Participants at the Annual Conference/General meeting of Institute of Strategic Management for creating time out of their busy Schedule to honour their invitation, he expressed Confidence that the economic challenges affecting the Country will soon be a thing of the Past.
