EASTER: EDFA DESOPADEC, NANI URGE CHRISTIANS TO PRAY FOR THE WORLD
The Executive Director, Finance and Administration at the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission(DESOPADEC), Barr. John Obukohwo Nani has called on Christians all over the world to take adequate advantage of the easter season to intercede for humanity and pray fevently to God to have compassion and heal the world from the Convid_19 Virus which has ravaged many countries and put the world economy to a pause.
In a special goodwill message to Christians in commemoration of the 2020 Easter celebration, Hon John Nani enjoins all to use the season to intercede for the land and invoke the victory of Christ on the cross of calvary on the current health situation plaguing the world saying that "the aim of Christ's death on the cross was to save humanity from the slavery of sin, oppression of the devil and grant us access to eternal life".
He charged Christians to reflect on the great and unconditional work of Christ on the cross and in the spirit of the time amend their ways with God noting that "Easter is a moment of appreciation and gratitude to God for his redemptive plan to man after the fall in the garden of Eden, as well as an opportunity for man to meditate on the unique work of Christ on the cross of calvary- His death and resurrection."
"Although the Easter celebration of this year will not be greeted with the usual gyration that characterise previous ones because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Christian faithfuls are encouraged to remain steadfast in faith, prayer, obey all health protocols and extend a warm hand of love to people around them in the little way they can to cushion the effect of the lock down and stay at home directive." He added.
While felicitating with Christians in the spirit of the season, He expressed optimism that with "the mercies of God, the ravaging scourge will passover and a new dawn of fruitfulness, economic boom, greater heights, mammoth blessings, harmonious living and togetherness in good health will be birthed to renew the world."
