...OVERLAND AIRLINE TO RESUME ASABA-ABUJA FLIGHTS ON 31ST OCTOBER, 2017.

By Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq  (EA Communications).

One of the nation's economically stable airlines, Overland Airways has announced its preparedness to resume commercial flight operations into Asaba International Airport with effect from 31st of October, 2017.

The airline Chief Executive Officer and one of the most proficient Airline Pilots in Sub-Sahara Africa, Captain Edward Boyo confirmed that the decision to resume flights into Asaba is as a result of the rising economic fortunes of the state; occasioned by increased business and leisure activities in the State capital, neighbouring state of ANAMBRA and beyond.

"We shall operate Asaba-ABUJA route on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays  making a total of three days every week with effect from 31st of October 2017.

"Overland was the first airline to fly into Asaba International Airport few years ago.  We have become partners in progress with Delta State Government.

"We are encouraged by the gradual and steady infrastructure development in the state, particularly the proactive steps taken by His Excellency Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa in the ongoing upgrade of the physical, structural and technical facilities at the airport.

"As you know, Overland Airways management is safety cautious which is why we cannot fly into any airport with unquestionable safety standard.  Asaba International Airport is very safe and very soon our esteemed passengers shall be airborne Abuja to Asaba and from Asaba to Abuja respectively," Capt Boyo added.

It is now very clear that the state government efforts in reposition Asaba International Airport as a major hub in the South-South region is becoming a reality.

It is hoped that upon completion of upgrade construction and subsequent full certification by NCAA, other airlines operating bigger airplanes  (Air Peace, Azman and others) will resume daily flights in and out of the airport.

The SMART AGENDA is working, Deltans are very happy.
