PROTEST: Okowa, Makinde Committed to DESOPADEC Workers welfare - Owen

Management of the Delta state Oil producing Areas Development Commission DESOPADEC has assured workers of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa administration's commitment to their welfare.

Speaking following a protest by the workers over what they tag Christmas bonus. Comrade  Owen Oghenero Edafe, The Personal Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Managing Director/CEO  of  the Commission Olorogun  Williams Makinde, reiterated that the M.D/CEO  is aware of their grievances and remains committed to addressing them as the state's economy continues improve.
He added that recent economic downturn and attacks on major oil and installations has negatively impacted the State's finance.
He however disclosed that talks are currently going on with leadership of the worker's various unions  and pleaded with them to return to work.Just has he commend the state governor Senator Dr Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa for the update  payment of all Desopadec staff and funding of capital projects across the oil producing Areas of the state.
