•••An Action Behind The Driven Motives of Hilary Obioma Ibegbulem and, A Practical Learning Factor of Elvis Akpobi Majority and Edwin Afejuku.

By Glen O. Arigi.

Leadership is not just the action of leading a group of people or an organization, or the state or position of being a leader which is both research and practical skill encompassing the ability of an individual to lead or guide other individuals, teams, or entire organization. But an inherent or acquired skills through societal upbringing either as a family trait or intuitive learning as a result of observation from role models which involves the art of motivating a group of people to act towards achieving a common goal. Steven M. Smith in his article "What is Leadership" said, ' Leadership is the ability to adapt the setting so everyone feels empowered to contribute creatively to solving the problems '. It is an ability, capacity to do something through talent and skill. Talent is natural and skill is proficiency gained through training and experience.

Shadow which is used in reference to proximity, ominous oppressiveness, or sadness and gloom is not the content of this context but the ability to follow and observe someone (Leader) closely and secretly to understanding the reasons and motives behind decisions and actions taken by the individual (Leader), not in inferiority or obscurity but an inseparable attendant or companion towards making progressive adjustments towards self-realization and capacity building.

His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Author Okowa, Governor of Delta state is a perfect reflection of this context. Over the years, from his youthful age had strove towards perfection of good leadership which is now part of the characterization towards the ideology behind his "Smart Agenda Policy" for Delta state which have driven youths and majority of Delta citizenry to support his governmental administration. The unprecedented skills and techniques displayed by such a pragmatic leader has motivated more youths into politics and governance. Although, while some of these youths indulge in politics, they are not ready to become leaders even if acclaimed to be as a result of association. A closer look at Governor Okowa will enable the understanding that leadership requires skills and abilities which naturally characterize his decisions. Majority of us call him the "Silent Achiever" meaning that, he's not fast to give judgment but with a rational mind through critical analysis of issues before coming up with a sound resolution which today has instilled peaceful coexistence in Delta state.

The leadership style of Governor Ifeanyi Author Okowa have precedence dynamics that focuses on the forces or properties which stimulates growth, development, change within the system or process with a positive attitude driven towards new ideas that can be sustained towards socioeconomic development aimed towards a better society. This is a catalyst towards youthful governance in Delta state and thus should be emulated for a greater nation and African society.

Today in Delta state, lots of youths want to struggle for power and position without understanding the process and purpose to which such powers should be utilized. And in this nefarious attitudes play themselves into oblivion.

While others are patiently learning from the Shadow of Leadership as displayed by the Lion, the principal secretary to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Sir Hilary Obioma Ibegbulem on Sunday 24th March, 2019 where Delta youths in the social media space were inspired, given a sense of belonging and, hope for a better days that are here through the present administration with the intention of creating a better sustained society, some are looking for loopholes to discredit the process as put together by a learning force in leadership, the convener "Not Too Young To Lead". Elvis Akpobi and the President Delta State PDP Social Media Team (DESPSOMET) comrade Edwin Afejuku are both epitome of youthful leadership that have displayed high sense of good leadership qualities perhaps as a result of " Shadow of Leadership ".

The display of Sir Hilary Obioma Ibegbulem have proven beyond reasonable doubt that Governor Okowa is a man to stand with because in his absence, the Lion did noble which have change life, expectations and hopes of the greater proportion of Delta youths. It's not a mistake that he's the principal secretary to the Delta state governor but a reality of purposeful leadership.

I for a person belongs to various associations were I've taken the privilege to learn leadership and lead as well without the mindset of underrating, victimizing, calculating the downfall of leaders and future leaders but with an overall view towards the improvement of human capital development and societal building aimed at the sustainable socioeconomic development of our immediate society and nation at large.

It is on this note, I will encourage youths across the nation that intends to become leaders to emulate the attributes, skills, techniques and characteristics of good leadership as displayed by Governor Okowa and Sir Hilary Obioma Ibegbulem to building a much better and sustainable peaceful society for all to live rather than looking for the negativity of goodwill to discredit peers and leaders in a bid to snatch mandates that will originally fall in place at due times and seasons. I want to also use this medium to encourage Deltan youths that Better Days Are Here and we all will testify irrespective of party affiliation and association. Think good thoughts and stay prayerful with a focus and determine heart on the path of light towards ways your impact can lead to positive contributions that will grow our immediate society and nation at large.
