CITN SOUGHTS FOR STRONGER PARTNERSHIP WITH DELTA STATE BOARD OF INTERNAL REVENUE (DBIR) ON TAX ADMINISTRATION

.....As The President And Members Of Council (CITN) Pays Courtesy Visit To Onyeme

The 14th President and Members of Council, Chartered Institute of Taxation Of Nigeria CITN Paid Courtesy Visit to the  Executive Chairman Delta State Board of Internal Sir Monday John Onyeme as they soughts for stronger Partnership with the Board on issues Concerning tax administration.

The President Dame Olajumoke who led the Members of Council after the Mandatory Professional Training Programme of the Warri District  (MPTP) to the Office of the Executive Chairman Delta State Board of Internal Revenue DBIR Sir Monday John Onyeme at the DBIR Headquarters, Warri firstly thanked the Chairman of the Board for receiving her and Members of the Council CITN to his office, she  revealed that this is the first Courtesy call she has made since her Investiture as the 14th President of the Institute, she expressed Confidence that the visit will build a Stronger Partnership between the Chartered Institute of Taxation and the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue.

While thanking the Executive Chairman Delta State Board of Internal Revenue DBIR Sir Monday John Onyeme for his immense Contributions towards the activities of the Institution,  she highlighted CITN expectations on areas for better Partnership and Collaboration that would be beneficial to tax Professionals such as the need for inclusiveness on issues Pertaining tax administration,  Need for Proper Placement and Opportunity for CITN Members that are staff of the Board, Encouragement of Board Staff who are not CITN Members to Sit for CITN Examination.

She Continued saying" i want to inform you that the Council of CITN is Considering Providing an opportunity for DBIR Staff who have not undertake the Joint Tax Board Inspector of Tax Course to belong to the Institute and such Category of Persons are expected to be involved in core tax functions and must have attained a Managerial Position with three months Course at the CITN Tax Academy and thereafter be eligible to be admitted as Member of CITN"

In response,  the Executive Chairman Delta State Board of Internal Revenue DBIR Sir Monday John Onyeme Commended the CITN President and Executives for finding time to visit the Board, he said the Board has been training her Staff on various areas that has Positive impacts on the Internally Generated Revenue of the State, revealing that training of Staff Locally and Internationally would have been a Continuous Process if not for the funding Challenges.

He maintained that the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue DBIR have a lot of Staff/Directors  who are Members of the CITN, he said the Board will be glad to Partner with the Chartered institute of Taxation Of Nigeria (CITN) for effective Service Delivery in the areas of Taxation.

In attendance were the Executive Chairman Delta State Board of Internal Revenue DBIR Sir Monday John Onyeme, DBIR Board Secretary Chief Mike Edegware Esq, DBIR Board Member Representing Delta North Senatorial Districts Chief Goddey Daniel Iwebuke, DBIR Board Member Representing Delta South Senatorial District Chief (Dr.) Barry Pere Gbe,  DBIR Board Member Representing Delta Central Senatorial District Hon Kelly Oghenekevwe, DBIR Director of Operation Rtn Itawansa Paul, DBIR Director of Enforcement And Compliance  Mr Felix Ojieh, DBIR Director of Other Revenue  Mr Ogege Joel, DBIR Director of Finance And Administration Mrs Philomina Adjarho, DBIR Director of Cooperate Development Mr Dafiaghor.A.,  DBIR Director of Admin Mrs Ogbobine, DBIR Public Relations Officer Mr Epue, DBIR Asst PRO Giovanni.
