Delta State Governor Should Reward Party Collation Agents- Stanley Agbosa

Comrade Stanley O Agbosa has called on the state governor Sen Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa and the leadership of the peoples democratic party to reward party agents when making appointments into various offices in the state because they stood firmly in defence of the mandate given to the governor and various candidates of the party at the general elections.

Comrade Agbosa who served as ward collation agent for Igbudu Ward 9 Warri South local government area, made this call when he spoke to our correspondent at the state house of Assembly election petition tribunal holding in Asaba.

The job of party agent is not an easy task as one has to be extremely intelligent and vigilant during the process of collation to avoid results manipulation. Agents kept vigil at the various collation centres and denied themselves the comfort of sleep all through the election night.  As we speak the collation officers are still working for the party because they are to testify as witnesses at the various election petition tribunals.

It is important for the party leadership to reward hardwork. People have been complaining that the party does not reward hardworking members because appointments are mostly given to leaders of the party who have benefited over the years.

When leaders are given opportunity to nominate people for appointments, they either nominate their spouses, children and relatives instead of rewarding those who have worked with them at the grassroots.

There is need to inspire those who stood firmly against all odds in defence of election results and ensured that materials for the elections were not compromised.

As a believer in the Okowa led administration, i will always suggest and support what is good for the party. The governor knows that most of the guys on the field are very committed and dedicated to the party over the years and will do more for the party if given the right motivation.-
