CHIEF RT. HON. BEN ROLLANDS IGBAKPA PLAYS HOST TO STUDENTS OF DSC TECHNICAL SCHOOL OVWIAN, ALADJA, DELTA STATE.

Member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives Chief Rt. Hon. Ben Rollands Igbakpa today played host to students of DSC Technical High School Ovwian, Aladja in his Abuja office.

The students, accompanied by a select staff of the school, were on an excursion visit to the National Assembly and were yesterday received into the Green Chambers by Speaker Rt. Hon.Femi Gbajabiamila.

On their courtesy call to Rt.Hon. Igbakpa this Morning, the Chairman Excursion  Committee of the school Mrs. Lucky Uduophori said that given the track record of Hon. Ben Igbakpa as former House of Assembly member and later Commissioner for Transport in Delta State, they deemed it wise to come congratulate Hon. Igbakpa on his victory at the polls and his eventual inauguaration as an Honourable member of the Federal House of Representatives.

She noted that they are confident that Rt. Hon Igbakpa would bring the much needed quality representation to his people in Ethiope federal and Delta state in general.

Responding, Hon. Ben Igbakpa commended  the students and Staff for their courage in coming all the way from Delta State to Abuja to familiarise themselves with the workings of the National Assembly. He lamented the comatose state of the Delta Steel Complex, Ovwian, noting that if brought back to life, DSC would no doubt generate massive employment opportunities for Delta State indigenes in particular.

He promised to use his office to galvanise government support towards rescucitation of the DSC Ovwian . He then called on the Federal Government and the Ministry of Mines and Steel to revisit the DSC issue.

Hon. Igbakpa used the occasion to reiterate his social contract with his constituents and pledged his total commitment to fulfil his own side of the bargain. He enjoined the students to take their studies seriously and not allow themselves to be fooled by the common stereotype among young people nowadays that education does not pay.

In her vote of thanks, Head Girl of the School, Miss Moses- Okelezo Ogheneyole thanked the Hon. Member for the warm reception given to them and prayed for God to grant him the wisdom and strenght to succeed in his new assignment.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of Souvenir to Hon. Ben Igbakpa by the Old Students Association of DSC, Abuja Chapter ably represented by the Vice President Mr. Marho H. Okene.
