WOMEN WILL BE HANDSOMELY REWARDED IN MY ADMINISTRATION SAYS GOV OKOWA

The Delta State Governor Sen Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has assured Women in the State that they will be handsomely rewarded in his administration in other key Political offices, he said nany will be included into various Boards in the State.

Gov Okowa who gave this assurance recently tuesday during the Swearing-In Ceremony of 17 Commissioners said Politics cannot be discussed without the Inclusion of Women, he said Women will be adequately represented in his administration through other appointments.

While Congratulating the 17 Commissioners after administering the oaths of office urged them to be humble and to be Sincere with their People, he admonished them to carry out their duties with high level of Professionalism for the Good of all Deltans, he said"As a Commissioner dont think you are the only one who is qualified, we have a lots of qualified Deltans but everyone cannot be a Commissioner hence you must embrace humility lifestyle in all you do"

He maintained that his administration will strive to ensure that all who have laboured in the past and during the electioneering campaigns will be rewarded one way or the other, if not by appointment but through some other means as he plead with Deltans to be Patient.

Furthermore, he frowned at the attitudes of a Party leader who went to the newspaper as well as the Social Media Insulting the Office of the Governor, trying to drag the dignity of the Government with so much achievements to the mud just because he was not given a Commissioner slot which he requested for, he described the situation as very unfortunate.

He Continued" I am aware that in Burutu local government alone a lot has been done and will still be done; just a few weeks ago the Vice President of this nation was in Burutu to commission the Obotobo 1 and Obotobo 2 to Sekebolo to Yokri road which is a 20.76km road for which our people were happy; only last year we commissioned the Burutu township roads and I know that the people in Burutu town and the Local Government area are very happy with the jobs; and I am aware that the road moving from Tuomo to Torugbene is on-going as I speak”.

"Its very unfortunate that the leader who went insulting the office of the Governor has held Several Positions at the Federal level even as a Minister of Niger Delta Affair, he should tell us how did he used the Position to Develop his Community and his Local Government Area at large, he should show the People his Scorecard"
