ONYEME DOLES OUT OVER N16M SCHOLARSHIP TO 160 UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS ACROSS NDOKWA NATION.

.....Says, His Foundation Will Organise Skill Acquisition Programme For The Youths


The Chairman of Monday Onyeme Foundation who doubles as the Executive Chairman Delta State Board of Internal Revenue DBIR Sir Monday John Onyeme has doled out over N16M Scholarship to 160 Undergraduate Students across Ndokwa Nation. He advised the Students to be serious with their academic so that they can become Successful in the nearest future and to distance themselves from any ungodly activities that will jeopardise not only their academic but also their future


He said in the Monday Onyeme Foundation is a non-governmental organisation which he  decided to set up to advance Primarily the Course of Ndokwa Nation and Probably Delta State and Nigeria in time to Come noting that in the last three years the Scholarship Programme is limited  to only Ndokwa West Particularly Ward 5 but this fourth year i decided to expand it so that our brothers and Sisters across Ndokwa Nation  can feel the Impacts of what we are doing.


Onyeme made this known at Utagba-Ogbe Grammar School, Kwale when Presenting  the One Hundred Thousand Naira Scholarship Cheques to the beneficiaries, he said overall best from the Aptitude Test have an additional One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira, the Second best gets an additional One Hundred Thousand Naira and the Third Best gets additional Seventy Five Thousand Naira.


He maintained that the Onyeme Foundation tend to focus on Education because we believe that no matter what, education remains the bedrock of a Developed Society, he said "Imagin a Country like Nigeria were there are no opportunities for People to get education, i think ours might be worse than what we are witnessing in South Africa, If you dont educate your young once, they will sit down and blame everybody for their misfortune and that is what is happening in South Africa and we dont want such in our environment" Onyeme added


While Congratulating the beneficiaries urging them to aim for excellence in their academic Pursuit,  he said the Monday Onyeme Foundation apart from the Scholarship Programme will also Organise Skill acquisition Programme for our Youths who are not in School but decided to acquire a Skill in other to live a meaningful life, he said in due course we will organise skill acquisitions Programme to train our youths in various Skill of Interest" The Monday Onyeme Foundation in amy area of Programme will focused on 90% of the Youths" he added.


He Continued "We tend to Continue this Scholarship Scheme every year, in our mission we also intend to Contribute towards rehabilitation of Public Schools, we will see how we can assist the Government to put some Positive touches in Some Public Schools that need rehabilitation and Probably Providing some Chairs and Desk for the Students to sit Comfortably in other for them to read their books, we also want to Provide Writting materials for Schools, last year we distributed some Books to some Selected Schools which we intend to double this year 2019 by Providing about 100,000 Books for Primary and Secondary schools"Onyeme added.
