Delta Lawmaker Sponsors HIV/AIDS Anti Discrimination And Protection Bill ~ Directreporters.

Asaba - The Chairman, House Committee on Health,  Hon Dr Austin Uroye, a member Representing the good people of Warri South Constituency 1 in the Delta State House of  Assembly sponsors a legislation to protect persons living with HIV/Aids, 2020 Passes First Reading and it was seconded by Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata who represents Uvwie Constituency.

Proposed bill, HIV/AIDS Anti - discrimination and Protection Bill,  2020 has passed it's first reading at the floor of the Delta State House of Assembly, during a plenary on Tuesday,  18th February 2020, which was presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor.

The bill is billed for second reading on 10th March,  2020, and when passed into law will prohibits all forms of discriminations against persons living with the disease in the society,  including right to medical facilities and jobs.

The motion was unanimously adopted when put to voice vote by the Deputy Speaker, Hon Ochor Ochor, who presided over the proceedings of the House, for the first time since the inauguration of the Seventh Assembly.
