The Korowai people live in Southeastern Papua in the island of New Guinea, the second largest island in the world

Korovays did not know about the existence of others on Earth. They live in trees on earth and practice cannibalism. According to some reports, they still suffer from cannibalism.

Cannibalism

Corawai practices cannibalism when convicted of a witch, Kahua. They think that Jaha always disguised Kahua as the “friend or relative” of those who want to kill Kahua. These people think that Ka Hua ate the victim from the inside when the victim was asleep. Kahua replaced the ashes of the victim within the victim, and the victim could not understand that the ashes were eaten. Then a magical arrow was fired at the victim's heart to kill him.

They believe that dying relatives always whisper the name of the khakhua before they pass on. The friends, family and members of the clan the dead victim belonged to would seize the person accused to be the khakhua, they would kill him/ her and eat the flesh.
