Saturday, 27th of June 2020 was a glorious day for Hon. Matthew Poko Opuoru , member representing Warri South constitution II in the Delta State House of Assembly, and Chairman House Committee on Trade and Investments, as he was presented with Arewa Councils of Chiefs in recognition of his immense contributions to human capital empowerment development.
The group led by Alhaji Mohammed Bello, Sariki Hausa, Warri Hausa community While appreciating Hon. Opuoru for his leadership prowess, styles and administrative acumen which has impacted positively in the lives of the people of his constituency, which the Hausa community have also benefited.
The leader of the Hausa community while praying and pledging their support at all times to Hon. Opuoru, further stated that the community is known for their great tradition, culture and heritage have been domiciled in Warri kingdom for many years trust in the ability of the Delta law maker to sponsor bills and programs that will be beneficial to the overall interest of people.
Responding, Hon. Matthew Opuoru stated this while receiving an award of excellence from Arewa Councils of Chiefs in his Constituency office in Warri.
Opuoru appreciated the group for finding him worthy of such a prestigious "ICON of Democracy" Awards.
Opuoru also requested that five (5) more names should be sent to his office from the Hausa community for his monthly empowerment/support program.
Hon. Matthew Opuoru while appealing to the community to continue the peaceful coexistence with their hosts, stating that he is working assiduously with the Delta State Government, led by His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for the construction of United College of Commerce road and Tomatoes roads in Igbudu market
