The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Mr Charles Aniagwu who disclosed this today at a well attended meeting with Journalists at the Warri Correspondent Chapel said the Government took time to study the transport Sector and later discovered that the Management of Delta Line were not able to meet up its contractual obligations to workers rather incurring debt, hence the Government have no option than to seek for a more Profitable solution.
He maintained that God is Good Motors has a Good track record as he revealed that the name of the Company "Delta Line" will be retained, he reiterated that the State Government is Partnering with the Private Sector in order for it to be profitable to the Good People of Delta State " The Primary considerations for the sale were not centered on monetary aspect alone, but how to reinvigorate Delta line for greater efficiency and profitability.
While Commending the Nigeria Union of Journalists Warri Correspondent Chapel for their understanding,he revealed that the Nigeria Labour Congress showed Interest when the bidding has been closed beside their Competence, Operational and Managerial level cannot be Compared to that of God Is Good Motors.
According to him, the ideal of some critics saying that this Present administration is not consolidating on the Projects done by the Past Administration is out of place and very untrue as he enlisted some Projects of the past administration that is been Consolidated by the Okowa’s led administration.
