Delta PDP Offers Free Forms For Female Aspirants By Patrick Ogbogu

The Delta State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, Barr Kingsley Esiso has said that the party will offer free nomination forms to women who want to seek Chairmanship and Councillorship positions in the forthcoming party primaries.

Esiso who made the declaration while briefing the press on the time-table of the PDP for the local government election, said the decision of the party was to encourage women to seek elective positions at the local government level.

The PDP Boss said the nomination forms for the chairmanship is N1 million, while the Councillor is N200, 000 for men.

He appealed to party leaders to also work in ensuring that three female Councillors were voted into office in each of the local government areas of the state.

Esiso said that forms to aspirants will commence on Wednesday next week and end on Oct Tuesday 17, while screening of aspirants will hold from Oct 18-21st.

He further stated that the PDP primaries for Councillor aspirants will hold on Oct 25, chairmanship will hold on Oct 26, party run-offs will take place on Oct 27, while consideration of appeals will hold on Oct 28.

The chairman said the time-table was a follow up to the time-table earlier released by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission DSIEC, assuring that there will be no imposition of candidates against the wish of the people.

He assured all aspirants of a level playing ground, maintaining that the best aspirant will be elected to fly the party’s flag in the council election slated to hold next year January 6.
