Deputy Governor of Delta State, Barr Kingsley Otuaro has restated the state government's commitment towards providing conducive environment for Corp members serving in the state. He stated this, while welcoming members of Batch A at the state NYSC Orientation Camp in Iseluku.
We have a track record have shown great commitment towards providing excellent environment for Corp members to work in delta state, knowing fully that the NYSC is been a worthy partner in nation building and rendering invaluable service to our dear country.
"We are proud of our youths in delta state, because they have made us proud in various fields of human endeavor. Our youths are resilient and hard working people who need to be given the right atmosphere to exhibit their God given potentials" said Otuaro.
We do not joke with youth empowerment in this state. It is on record that we run the best youth empowerment program which is STEP and YAGEP initiative of this administration and it has made our youths to become self employed and at the same time employers of labour.
He admonished Corp members to be law abiding citizen and abide by the rules and regulations governing the National Youth Service Corps during and after their orientation exercise.
You must shun social vices that are inimical to your growth and development and as a state, we do not tolerate any form of social vices because that is one of the main factor that is responsible for delinquent behavior amongst our young ones.
We will not fail to sanction and apply the full weight of the law, on anyone found wanting. I therefore call on you all to maintain the highest standard of decorum and civility during your stay and as you continue to serve our country as ambassadors of your family, state and school.
Once again i want to welcome you to delta state, a place blessed with peace and tranquility and i wish you all a successful service year. God bless you all
