UDUAGHAN, OSHIOMOLE VS. GOV OKOWA 2019.
...UDUAGHAN WAS SPOON-FED WHILE IN PDP, UNGRATEFUL TO PARTY, CHIEF JAMES IBORI - FRED OGHENESIVBE.
Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Communications, Barrister Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe has again asserted that the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Iweta Uduaghan failed woefully in his eight years in office and therefore, lacked moral justification to cast aspersions on the incumbent governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa.
Oghenesivbe noted that during Uduaghan's tenure, he was deeply involved in frivolous spending and went about dishing out state funds on jamborees rather than invest on infrastructure and socioeconomic development of Delta State.
The EA communications in a statement made available to newsmen in Asaba, further asserted that while in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uduaghan, popularly known as ASAMAIGOR, was "spoon-fed" like a baby as a result of his blood-relationship with the former governor of the state and national leader of Ibori Political Dynasty (IPD), His Excellency Chief James Onanefe Ibori.
"Uduaghan ran the affairs of Delta State like a father Christmas and failed to build enduring infrastructure that could stand the test of time. He was busy enjoying himself as if governance is all about luxury, looting and joining the billionaires club.
"The problems Okowa administration encountered were monumental and had to start from the scratch. It was frustrating to the extent that the huge debt inherited by this administration had to be skillfully managed and serviced to give little space for survival and to genuinely provide the needed dividend of democracy to the good people of Dellta State.
"For Example, the Asaba International Airport was poorly constructed by Uduaghan administration which resulted in the downgrading of the airport by federal aviation authorities. The contractors, ULO consultants Ltd was contracted by Uduaghan administration. The company was paid several billions of Naira for sub-standard job done and went ahead to re-award the airport upgrade re-construction to same failed contractor which the Okowa administration inherited on May 29, 2015.
"Delta State Transport Company and Delta Line were already in comatose before Gov Okowa assumed duty as governor. The company never made profit for government and it's management staff siphoned the little money left for administration while majority of the vehicles broke down and became unserviceable hence this administration entered into joint venture deal with God is Good Motors (GIGM) for a more efficient and profitable re-branded company.
"EDUMARSHAL of Uduaghan administration was poorly managed and had no clear cut direction as to sustainability and projected impact hence it was unbundled and the needful was done by this administration to avoid unnessary financial burden and leakages.
"In all, Uduaghan zeroed the state treasury, carted away huge funds through white-elephant projects such as Delta Independent Power Project (IPP), Industrial Park, et al, to the extent that the state Accountant-General refused Uduaghan's request to further plunder state funds towards handing over date to this administration," Oghenesivbe added.
It was further revealed by Gov. okowa's EA communications that the political event of 2014 which gave Gov Okowa the mandate to run for governor under PDP as against Uduaghan's personal choice of Sir Tony Obuh, remains the only petty reason while Uduaghan defected to APC, so as to join forces (if he has any) with Oshiomole as a vindictive move against Gov Okowa in 2019.
It was further alleged in Oghenesivbe's statement that Uduaghan invoked his present predicament upon himself for failing to consult widely before imposing his governorship aspirant (Obih) on the party and the good people of Dellta State in 2014, pointing out that Uduaghan knew that Gov Okowa was the choice of the party, Ibori's choice and the choice of Deltans but wanted to install himself as the new leader and king-maker, an attempt to replace Ibori's position in the political scheme of things.
According to Oghenesivbe, that singular poor reasoning and failed coup to unseat leader Ibori as the national leader of IborI Political Dynasty shattered Uduaghan's dream of becoming a Senator in 2015, because PDP National leadership pitched tent with Ibori and yanked Uduaghan as seating governor, making him completely irrelevant in state and national politics in the past four years.
"Uduaghan's defection to APC is to enable him reintegrate himself into state and national politics because it was obvious that he failed as governor and was also ungrateful to Chief Ibori and other leaders of the party that worked so hard to make him governor even though he did not merit it at the time.
"Judging from Uduaghan's recent press interviews especially the recent one on Channels Television (Hard Copy), it became very clear that the immediate past governor is an unintelligent man, a complete novice in partisan politics and a man confused and debased as a result of his past sins against those who spoon-fed him to become Commissioner, Secretary to Delta State Government, Governor from 2007-2015 and the billionaire that he is today.
"APC through the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) must not fail to investigate the source of Uduaghan's amazing wealth in line with President Muhammadu Buhari's Fight Against Corruption; but I doubt if Mr President will be able to garner the will-power since Uduaghan is now one of APC's major financiers.
"Come 2019, Uduaghan, Adams Oshiomole and APC shall respect the combined political craftsmanship of Chief Ibori, Gov Okowa and the various political structures working round the clock for the landslide re-election victory of the Smart Governor.
"For real, Uduaghan will not become APC Senator in 2019, because his party lacks internal democracy coupled with the fact that the PDP senatorial candidate that will emerge in Delta South, shall defeat Uduaghan effortlessly and with a wide margin," Oghenesivbe predicted.
