DTSG condoles with Okere-Urhobo people over monarch's death

Delta State Government and his people has condoled with the people of Okere Urhobo Kingdom over the death of their King, Prof. Paul Oghenero Okumagba Idama 11, the Orosuen of Okere Urhobo Kingdom, in Warri South Local Government Area.

The State Deputy Governor, Barr Kingsley Otuaro, who conveyed the message to the chief and people of Okere Urhobo Kingdom in a high powered delegation he lead from the state government on a condolence visit, said "The death of the king was received with shock because he died when his wise counsels and support was most needed by government."

Barr Otuaro said "The Late Okumagba was one of the foremost supporters of Senator Okowa's Stronger Delta vision", and assured the people of government readiness to assist in giving the late monarch a befitting burial.

He charged the people to immortalize the late king by upholding his legacies of peaceful co-existence and love for humanity, adding, “The Okere Urhobo town should put their trust in God as their king has gone to be with the lord after a life well spent."

In his response, the Regent of Okere Urhobo Kingdom, Chief Emmanuel Omovie, who thanked the Delta State Government for the visit and prayer, pledged the kingdom's loyalty and support to Governor Okowa led administration.

Chief Omovie commend Governor Okowa for the development attracted to the area and the state at large thus far and pledged to intimate government with the burial programmes within the shortest possible time.

In another development, the Delta State Deputy Governor, Barr Kingsley Otuaro has described the mother of Chief Victor Egukawhore, Late Mama Magdalene Egukawhore, as a woman of great influence who lived her life to the service of God.

Barr Otuaro stated this when he also led a high powered delegation from the state on a condolence visit to Chief Victor Egukawhore, and members of his family over the death of their mother, Mama Magdalene Egukawhore who died at the age of 77.

Barr Otuaro who expressed his condolence to Chief Victor Egukawhore, said, "The children should carry on with the legacies and good virtues mama has left behind."

Responding, Chief Victor Egukawhore thanked the deputy governor and government of Delta State for the show of love on him and members of his family in this period of grief.

He stated "Such visit will encourage me to do more for the people and also continue to support the government of Delta State."
