There is Need to Support Private Sector for More Economoc Dev. of Urhobo, Others----------Edevbie

The chief of staff to Gov Ifeanyi Okowa , Olorogun David Edevbie has said that there is need to support the private sector for more Economic development of Urhobo nation, the state and the country at large.

Olorogun Devid Edevbie stated this during the 2nd Urhobo Economic and Investiment Summit which was  Tittle, "Private Sector and the Future of The Nigeria Economy, the Ease of Doing Business In Urhobo Land which hold at KFT, Event Center, Along  NNPC Housing Complex, off Airport Road, Effurun in Uvwie LGA, of Delta state recently.

Olorogun David Edevbie, who represented Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa at the occasion in his addressed posited that,

"It is right on how we can advance the Urhobo Nation to greater heights, particularly in terms of socio-economic development, adding, the Urhobo nation has resources which he said, oil, gas, fertile land, hardworking and talent people to make Urhobo a land of opportunities and center of economic and industrial power both in the state and the nation in general"

Speaking further, the Chief of staff, also hinted, "even the economies of the so-called Asian Tigers are based on the private sector through micro, small and medium enterprises, and this econimics are not government own driven, adding that, that is why we  need to intensify efforts to encourage the private sector to take up its proper role in revamping not only the economic landscape of Urhobo land but also the state and the nation at large" Olorogun David Edevbie added.

Olorogun David Edevbie, in the course of his speech also enumerated some of the challenges that may likely hindered the the growth and development of the private sector to includes, internal security like  incessant youth restiveness, inadequate infrastructure, such as lack of roads to where the private business is located.

while the other ones he said are: lack of power (electricity), and energy and at the same time financial constrain and many others, assuring that, this administration is committed to creating necessary conducive atmosphere for private enterprises to thrive, adding that for this to succeed. there should be value-orientation aimed at changing the attitude of the people from being totally dependent only on the government.

The chief of staff in his speech  however, commended the organisers of this second edition of Urhono Economic and Investivement Summit describing it as a welcome development.
