COVID-19: Residents in Pessu Community/Ward laud Gov. Okowa’s food distribution.. directreporters

Residents of Pessu Community in Warri South Local Government area have commended Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa for distribution of food items to Warri South local government areas of the state, to cushion the economic  impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the people.


A cross section of residents gave the commendation in separate interviews with the Directreporters Crew, today 19/04/2020 at Pessu Community in Warri South LGA during the distribution of the state government’s palliatives in Patani.



Mr Ogbebor Sunday, a Pensioner, who spoke to our reporter expressed joy at the gesture shown by the governor who is poised to wipe away the suffering of Warri South people.

Ogbebor thanked, the governor and the local government Chairman Hon. Dr. Michael Tidi for putting smiles on their faces.

In the same vein Mrs Yemi an elderly woman from Ale quarters in Pessu Community, said people never expected that the governor would keep to his words in this trying times by sending them food. She prayed for the governor and wished that God will give him the grace to lead the people of delta state.

Also speaking, Comr Edwin Afejuku commended the efforts of the delta state government towards providing food for the people of delta. He expressed optimism that with what the state government has done for the people, the effect of the lockdown will not be too much on the people.

Afejuku also thanked the chairman of Warri South local government council for his commitment towards ensuring that the people cooperate with the state government and reduce the spread of coronavirus in the state.

Earlier today, various food items such as rice, beans, garri, groundnut oil and noodles were distributed to the vulnerable people in Pessu ward in Warri South LGA so as to cushion the effects of COVID-19 on the people.
