DELTA: Hessington Okolo to give out Bursary, Enrols Students For WASSCE, JAMB.
In line with his commitment to supporting the education of the younger and support for knowledge acquisition in building a Stronger Delta, the Delta State Asst. Legal Adviser of the PDP and Founder Leadership Initiative For Youths Foundation, Bar. Hessington Okolo has paid the WASSCE and Jamb fees of some indigent students of Ezhionum Secondary School.
Barr. Hessington Okolo who was represented by Mr. Cyprian Odifili, handed over the enrolment fees to the beneficiaries, in cash, to the school vice principal (academics) Mr. Friday Okolo.
Hessington, urged the beneficiaries and students of the school to take their studies seriously in order for them to excel in their academic pursuit, thereby making both their parents and the society proud.
He passionately appealed to parents and guardians in the state, to see education as a major investment which they must make for the betterment of their children's future and in building a virile and knowledge based society.
He also assured the beneficiaries that their JAMB enrollment fees will be taken care of by him. He further informed the beneficiaries of his resolve to support the tertiary education of those who would record success in the WASSCE and JAMB examinations with bursary, and equally award scholarship to the overall best, as he is able to. This he said; is in line with the Stronger Delta Agenda of the Delta State Governor, His Excellency, Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, and the state's government vision of spreading prosperity to Deltans.
While receiving the student's enrolment fees, Mr. Friday Okolo, Vice Principal (academics) expressed profound appreciation to Barr. Hessington Okolo, for the selfless services he has continued to render to humanity which he has extended to students of his school, assuring him of the school's warmest gratitude. He also admonished the beneficiaries to make use of the golden opportunity in achieving their academic goals.
Miss Etukoshie Patience, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, appreciated the philanthropist, Barr. Hessington, for coming to their aid. She said that most of them had lost hope of writing this year's WASSCE before God sent them a helper. She prayed God to bless the benevolent giver.
